Function description

As Technical Superintendent you always put together information about the vessel specification. You lead the docking, repairs and maintenance of the vessels and equipment. You will be responsible for keeping a keen eye on where everyone works and operating accordingly to organisational policies, procedures and management systems. Next to this, you will also be responsible for:

Being the first point of contact and advising the captains of the vessels;
Preparation of technical and financial final reports;
Assisting crew in resolving technical problems on board, by phone, email or on board;
Monitoring logistics process of purchase orders;
Controlling and monitoring maintenance and safety performance;
Arranging class surveys and maintaining the fleet up to the respective class standards;
Preparation and maintenance of yearly budgets for assigned vessels;
Carrying out regular, international ship visits.

Requirements

Furthermore, you need to have the following to be considered as Technical Superintendent but you have at least met the basic skills and requirements:

A higher professional degree in Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding or similar qualification
At least five years of relevant experience in similar positions as Superintendent in dredging or offshore wind industry;
As a Technical Superintendent, you should have knowledge of Fleet and Project Management, associated IT systems and MS Office software;
You need to be a clear communicator, both verbally and written in English. Dutch and other languages have advantages.
